[The feed opens to the inside of...a mouth!

A canine mouth, if the teeth are anything to go by. A great big tongue swipes the screen, and static fizzes for a second. The mouth, startled by the noise, pulls away, revealing the long, slim muzzle of a Houndour. It would seem Nero's added a new member to his team...but that doesn't look like a hotel room behind the pokémon, or a route. Where is it?]

What the f—that's not a goddamn chew toy!

[There's the sound of a giggle, and some indistinct soothing words, probably from Kyrie. Basilisk the Houndour turns his head, perfectly dignified, as Nero plucks the 'gear from out between his legs. His expression is vaguely disdainful, lip curling to expose white teeth, but Nero ignores him, expression still mildly smug from the recent fight.

In Nero's hands now, the 'gear turns away to show...the battle arena of the Celadon gym.

Or at least. There used to be an arena here. Vast swaths of trees are now little more than charcoal, blast burns where green grass should be, wisps of black smoke curling like ribbons towards the vaulted ceiling. At the center of all this destruction is Red, scuffed and possibly poisoned but victorious, spreading her wide wings and taunting the yet-unevolved Buster with them. The camera pans a bit too quickly to see much, but Nero's tone brooks no argument.]

Red, cut it out.

[She's not inclined to listen, basking in her first gym victory, won only by the skin of her teeth. Looming over Buster, she huffs out a puff of smoke, her tail burning bright behind her like a banner. Her posturing earns her a headbutt from the smaller Shelgon, which only serves to make her upset—and there they go.]

Fuck this...

[Nero chucks the 'gear down at Basilisk's feet, taking off towards the skirmishing dragons. Now, most people might have a moment of concern when approaching this situation, but Nero? Nah.

Nero uses his Bagon as a stepping-stone to vault up and punch his Charizard in the face. You can't really see it from that angle, but the sound is pretty telltale.]

Fucking—stop!

[Basilisk watches this, mildly impressed, and then goes back to chewing. The feed goes out the same way it started.]

I need more than ice and dark types, and fire is the next best to me. I've been hearing about dragon types though and they sound pretty useful too. [Don't mistake them or you'll get a pissed off darkstuff, Nero.]

The first one is in the PC while I train up this new one. [But yes, he likes trouble.]

Heard Ice-types weren't worth my time. As for dragons... [Flashes Buster's pokeball.] They're not so bad.

[Just wait 'till he evolves, Nero. You'll change your tune.]

They've got uses, especially in summer. [Like coating him in ice because he's too bloody hot and people won't turn their AC up.] What's in the ball, the roly poly looking thing? [lol was that a dragon]

I'll deal. [You learn how to manage when your preferred attire is head-to-toe leather.]

And yeah, that's a Shelgon. Supposed to be badass later, but in the meantime he's not a bad footstool.

Heh, he looks pretty hilarious like that. [Just wait till you see his puffy white and blue dragonbird, bro.] Hopefully what he turns into is worth it.

So, you got the Rainbow badge now huh? What did you fight and where? [Deets on the gym, bro.]

That's the one. [He's of the opinion that it's the badge with the dumbest name in existence, but.] She uses grass-types. A Jumpluff, a...creepy tentacle thing [--he means Trangrowth--] and a Bellossom. The gym's a kind of a forest maze.

Or, it was.

[Okay's a little ~~very~~ proud about that.]

Grass types should be no problem for me then. [Fire AND ice are both useful. And flying. So, lol. Weakest gym he's ever heard of, on top of Azaleas.] It'll be as easy as crushing the bug leader in Johto, provided she's got more than level fourties.

Level fifty, or around there. [She had three and he had two, though, only one of them close to 50.] Gotta watch out for those poison moves, they're a pain.

[That, and her Tangrowth liked to Wrap up his pokemon, but that was solved by switching Red for Buster, who was heavy and hard-shelled enough that Tangrowth's vines had little effect.]

That still isn't gonna cut it. Looks like I'll get the badge so long as I show up. Where's this gym?

Celadon city, west of Saffron. Route's pretty short, too, only two days.

Not bad at all. [Not at all indeed; plans to get going first in the morning? Yeeep.] So what else do you have other than the Charizard and the dragon? [Simply curious, he's only asking cause if there's other dragons, kind of wanting to see.]

[Camera pans down to show a particularly dignified-looking houndour at Nero's feet.] This guy's new. Caught him on the way here, actually.

[..... Well now, that Pokemon looks way cooler than the dinky Poochyena he's got boxed.] What is it? I like the look of it. Dark type?

Houndour; dark and fire type. Not too shabby, from what I've seen so far. Finally got to use that CD I got for Christmas.

[By 'CD' he means TM.]

[Not like he knows what a CD is.] I'll have to look into getting one of those then. [Wanting all dark types, but of course.]

I haven't seen any except on Route 7, so it might be a hike, depending on where you are.

Saffron. I'll have to keep my eye out. Are they like the owls and prefer coming out at night?

Don't most dark-types? You start hearing them around dusk. They're pretty rare, though.

[Last he knew there was a pack running around, but Nero caught the leader, so it's possible they dispersed.]

I wouldn't know, I haven't caught anything before. [Hmm, rare huh. He'll figure something out; at least it's during the hours he's way more awake.]

He was the first wild thing I caught, too. Not interested in the little birdies or whatever else is on offer.

I like the birds as a mode of transportation. Flying is by far the best way to get around.

Already got Red, and Buster's supposed to evolve into something with wings too. I think I'm covered, as long as they don't drop me.
